The following is a collection of projects that I am proud to share. Most of my professional work has centered around causes that are important to me personally.
As 2021-2022 Outreach Chair for GreenGive (a 36-hour giving campaign) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and 2023’s Chair, I worked with more than ten local nonprofit organizations to create compelling content and messaging in support of this important local giving campaign. With cross-promotion and incredible community support, we raised more than $140,000 to help support environmental protection and restoration in 2023!
During my time as Assistant Director with Coastal Conservation Association Maryland, I produced several projects including press releases, social media content, sponsorship packages and fundraising events. I also produced several short films. I produced, directed, co-wrote and narrated the “Save Man O’War Shoal” short presented to the Maryland General Assembly as well as the “Living Reef Action Campaign of Southern Maryland” piece. As producer of the Community Challenge Video, I was able to help and mentor 3 students in the Anne Arundel County STEM program.
Below is an editorial I wrote for The Capital Gazette about Kick Gas! In Annapolis a campaign I managed. These annual events were held at various locations throughout Annapolis celebrating National Drive Electric Week. This program event and campaign highlight sustainable alternatives to gas-powered vehicles and share this information in a fun and educational way through this community event. I have managed and grown this program on behalf of Annapolis Green— raising more than $30,000 through community partnerships and sponsorships.
I enjoy working toward a common goal with a strong team. I consider myself organized and efficient (and I brought receipts).
In February of 2020, the world was a different place. Even in my own backyard, my event planning came to a screeching halt. But no matter what, we adapt. We overcome. As is the way, I volunteered my time and efforts to help Annapolis Green, a local non-profit. Soon I was contracted as Project Manager and then held the title of Executive Director.
Below is a video that I directed and produced as a tribute to 15 Years of Green with Annapolis Green. This video was created to showcase the work of the co-founders of Annapolis Green over the past 15 years.
In the spring of 2016, the public relations firm I founded, Half Moon Drive, LLC spearheaded the Skip the Straw Suncoast campaign headquartered in Sarasota, Florida. Working with local non-profits and chefs and restauranteurs, we were able to not only get many restaurants and restaurant groups to stop using plastic straws and cutlery but helped move the conversation about sustainable best practices along on a local level. Even Sysco (a large wholesale food distributor) contacted us to identify and implement sustainable alternatives and options to Suncoast restaurants.
While working with Edible Sarasota Magazine (member of Edible Communities) I wore many hats, most consistently as a Contributing Editor. Working for 4 years to help build the brand, my work was also published more than a dozen times. Below are a few of my favorites.
In the summer of 2017, Half Moon Drive started its first product line of handmade cotton wax wraps to replace plastic cling wrap in the home. Half Moon Wax Wraps started as a small idea and quickly evolved into a verified business venture. I curate the patterns of the wraps and coordinate the online marketing, SEO and PR for the company. My first press release generated enough publicity to land our Creative Director on the local Sarasota ABC affiliate (featured below). More recently, we were accepted into the Maryland Green Registry as a local small business excelling in sustainable best practices. Check it out!
If your organization is passionate about sustainability, supporting local communities and supporting growth and potential for its employees, I’m interested.
